Athea Trial Lawyers is one of the country’s most prestigious plaintiffs’ law firms. Formed in 2022 and led by six nationally recognized and successful female attorneys, the firm is again ranked Tier 1 in Los Angeles for Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs in 2023 by Best Law Firms®.

Headquartered in Southern California, founders Charla Aldous, Randi McGinn, Bibi Fell, Lisa Blue, Zoe Littlepage and Deborah Chang concurrently lead their own firms and also unite to operate Athea Trial Lawyers. A shared philosophy of justice and a drive to improve society brought them together.

“As legal advocates, we aim to achieve results that will make a difference in our clients’ recoveries,” said Chang, who was named the 2022 “Lawyer of the Year” for Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs in Los Angeles in The Best Lawyers in America®. “We aspire for a more level professional landscape and hope to inspire more women to exceed their own personal expectations—especially in the legal profession.”

Athea Trial Lawyers made an impact in its inaugural year by representing the family of Esther Nakajjigo, Uganda’s Ambassador for Women and Girls, who was killed in June 2020 while exiting Arches National Park in Utah. The negligence suit against the National Park Service is scheduled for trial in December 2022.

“We are honored to represent the family of Ms. Nakajjigo, an activist globally renowned for improving education and rights for women and teenage girls in her home country,” Chang said. “She embodied the best of society and humanity, and her life ended due to an easily avoidable tragedy. Through our fight for justice, we will honor her life and legacy.”

Individually, the firm’s founders have demonstrated their ability to secure landmark results and the respect of their peers. Founders Aldous* and McGinn** have also been named “Lawyer of the Year” several times by The Best Lawyers in America in various areas since 2009. Fell, Blue and Littlepage have also been praised by legal media for securing precedent-setting, nine-figure resolutions and their leadership positions in the legal community.

Together, Athea Trial Lawyers looks forward to strengthening its reputation in 2023 and maintaining its status in Best Law Firms®.

“Athea Trial Lawyers views each resolution as a contribution to the profession and an opportunity to prevent further injuries and damage,” Chang said. “We are a proud alliance of unstoppable female trial lawyers and aim to elevate the profession through our advocacy.”
