William “Billy” J. Wieland, II is a third-generation Florida attorney with deep family roots in Florida’s legal community. Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Judge Bill Wieland, and his father, Glen Wieland, Billy has established himself as a respected trial attorney representing individuals and families in personal injury and workers' compensation cases throughout the State of Florida.

Before becoming an attorney, Billy graduated magna cum laude from Stetson University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a minor in Business Law. Billy then earned his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law, graduating cum laude in 2010. While in law school, Billy was a founding member of the Defense Research Institute student chapter and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Judge Stan Strickland of the 9th Circuit Court in Orange County, Florida, including assisting on the high-profile Casey Anthony case.

Billy began his legal career working for a large insurance defense firm, representing Fortune 500 companies and major insurance carriers in complex workers' compensation cases throughout Florida. Though successful, Billy realized his true passion was advocating for those in need, not corporations. As a result, in 2016, Billy joined Wieland & DeLattre, P.A. and shifted his focus to representing injured clients and their families.

Billy’s practice areas include:

  • Car and motorcycle crashes
  • Car crashes
  • Golf cart accidents
  • Accidents on scooters
  • Bicycle accidents
  • Motorcycle crashes
  • Product liability
  • Trucking collisions
  • Slip and falls
  • Premises liability accidents or injuries
  • Injuries from defective products or equipment
  • Workers' compensation claims and disputes

Billy has earned numerous accolades for his trial work and advocacy, including recognition as one of the Top 40 Under 40 Attorneys by The National Trial Lawyers, Top 100 Attorneys by the National Trial Lawyers, a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, and as a Best Lawyer in both Personal Injury and Workers' Compensation by Orlando Magazine since 2020.

In 2020, Billy made history conducting one of Florida’s first virtual nationwide trials during the COVID-19 pandemic, successfully representing a local teacher in claims against her employer. The victory set a precedent benefiting educators statewide and was watched and engaged with by a worldwide audience.

Billy is a frequent speaker on legal issues in personal injury and workers' compensation law, having presented at The National Association of Workers’ Compensation Judiciary, Inc., The Annual Worker’s Compensation Institute Conference, The Workers' Compensation of the Florida Bar, and the Judge William Wieland American Inn of Court, among others. Billy’s insights have been featured in The Florida Bar: Workers' Compensation Section’s News & 440 Report, and he’s made media appearances on CNN, MSNBC, FOX News, CBS News (WKMG), ABC News (WFTV), and NBC News (WESH).

Community service is also a cornerstone of Billy’s life, with Billy having served on the Board of Directors (Vestry) of St. Alban’s Anglican Cathedral, where he volunteered his time and services to support the church and it's outreach initiatives, volunteering with the Orange County Teen Court program, mentoring at-risk youth, and has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities through the Judge Wieland Memorial Golf Tournament and other charitable efforts. Billy also volunteers his time at Give Kids the World, helping disabled children with serious and life-threatening conditions as part of the Make-A-Wish organization.

When he’s not advocating for his clients, Billy cherishes time with his wife and two daughters, enjoying everything Florida has to offer — from visiting local parks, natural springs, and beaches to making memories at the state’s world-famous theme parks. A firm believer in the importance of family and adventure, Billy and his family love traveling across the United States and exploring destinations around the world, embracing new experiences and cultures along the way. Closer to home, some of his favorite moments are spent watching his wife and daughters laugh and play with the family’s beloved miniature dachshund, creating simple, meaningful memories that remind him of what matters most.

Billy is licensed to practice law throughout Florida and in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He welcomes the opportunity to speak with new clients about how he can help protect their rights and fight for the justice they deserve.
